Decentlab DL-PR36-CTD - High-precision liquid level sensor for LoRaWAN

Pressure / Liquid level, Temperature and Electrical Conductivity

Decentlab DL-PR36CTD enables remote monitoring of water level, water temperature and its electrical conductivity with high precision. Combining a high-end multi-parameter pressure transducer with a robust enclosure using industrial components, the DL-PR36 is suitable for Water and Energy Utilities and other application where precision and both data and device reliability are critical for operations.

Typical applications are water quality monitoring in open water, fill level of tanks, groundwater quality and level and various other applications.

The device is battery operated with an estimated life span 2 to 10 years, depending on use and signal quality. Sensor data are transmitted in real-time using LoRaWAN® radio technology, which enables encrypted radio transmissions over long distances while consuming very little power.

Device Function

Pressure is measured at the sensor head relative to the pressure at the cable end (device enclosure). When the sensor head is placed under water (or any other liquid), the relative pressure indicates depth. In water, the relative pressure of 1 bar equals to a depth of approximately 10 m.

Also available on request is a variant of the DL-PR36CTD which measures the absolute pressure at the sensor head, i.e., the pressure relative to zero bar (vacuum).

The electrical conductivity measurement is used for monitoring the ion concentration in water (salinity, concentration of pollutants). Thanks to the four-wire technology, the conductivity probe is not affected by polarization effects or dirt.

The device also reports the temperature of the sensor head with high precision. Additionally the temperature reading is used internally for temperature compensation.
